Prof Brian Cox, OBE, is one of the most recognisable scientists in the world today, having been the public face of a number of science programs for the BBC. An English particle physicist, he has helped to boost both the popularity and public knowledge of subjects such as astronomy and physics. An interesting past footnote is Cox’s membership of the band D.ream in the 1990s as keyboardist, and their song Things Can Only Get Better being adopted by the UK Labour Party as their theme song for the 1997 election that brought Tony Blair to power.
In this interview with the ABC’s Adam Hills, he gives a most convincing critique of the difference between fact and opinion, as well as a rather unique and comic view of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics.
